As the Sakura trees in the Amsterdam forest are in full bloom, it is time to celebrate spring together. Taiko honours the Hanami Festival with a menu, especially created by chef Schilo van Coevorden. Working with local suppliers and farmers he has developed his own unique style that captivates the hearts and taste buds of many well-travelled food aficionados available throughout spring. The Cherry Blossom Festival, also called Hanami (flower viewing), is a Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers, welcoming the new harvest and celebrating the season when the rice is being planted.

Taiko Bar

What first started as a playful flirt between kitchen and bar, inspired by a shared love and passion for Asia, has now grown into a new phenomenon within the last five years: Taiko Bar. With excellent service from some of Amsterdam’s best bartenders, supreme bites from Taiko Cuisine and a cocktail menu that makes you feel like you’re in a speakeasy in Roppongi, Taiko Bar translates the sophisticated nightlife of global cities such as Bangkok, Tokyo and Shanghai into the intimate, cosy setting of an Amsterdam neighbourhood pub.

Opening hours

We would like to kindly inform you that from Sunday 17th July to 22nd August a summer closure will be taking place in Taiko Cuisine and Taiko Bar. The Brasserie is open for breakfast from 06.30 to 11 a.m. and for lunch from 12.30 to 6 p.m. every day. Every Tuesday to Saturday, we offer dinner from 6 to 10 p.m. Our team of chefs, waiters, and hosts very much look forward to welcoming you.
