Ellen Gallagher (1965) is an American artist, who lives and works between Rotterdam and New York. Her work has been extensively shown in solo and group exhibitions as well as numerous biennials and is part of permanent collections of many major museums around the world. This will be her first solo exhibition in the country she has called her home for over two decades. Her media include painting works on paper, film, and video. Gallagher builds intricate, multi-layered works that pivot between the natural world, mythology and history and speculate on music, archaeology and relations.
